“Children who have a Big Brother or Sister are 3 times less likely to drop out of school, have 4 times fewer teen pregnancies, and 4 times fewer arrests than their peers. ”

Studies have shown that the single most important factor contributing to the future success of a child is a positive adult role model. When that influence is missing from a child’s life, the Big Brothers Big Sisters program helps fill the void. While we serve all children in Santa Cruz County, the majority of our "Littles" are from single parent families.

You can make a BIG difference!

Recent surveys of our Littles indicate that after one year of being matched:

* 78% believe that their friendships have improved
* 67% believe that their family relationships have improved
* 89% believe that their interest in school has improved
* 67% believe that their grades have improved
